Chilled soft drinks and confectionary are available in the Dinosaur Isle shop. A green picnic area is situated in front of the museum, with bench and large 'ammonite' seating. The picnic area overlooks a shallow lake which, in the spring and summer, is host to many breeding pairs of ducks, coots, moorhens and a resident pair of Mute swans.
Browns Cafe is sited next door to Dinosaur Isle. The cafe is run by the Isle of Wight Zoo. It is open seven days a week during the spring and summer. The cafe serves hot and cold food and has seating indoors and out.Phone (01983) 402447 for details of opening times and other information.
The old Yaverland Kiosk has undergone a complete rebuild. It is sited 5 minutes walk away on Yaverland Road at the entrance to Yaverland carpark, near the Zoo. The cafe is a convenient stop after one of our guided fossil walks at Yaverland. It is open from 9am to 5pm seven days a week from March to November. The kiosk serves hot and cold food, with tables indoors and out.
