Donating specimens

We are always looking for new specimens for our collection. We will consider single donations right up to complete collections’.

The museum does have a collections policy which determines what we will collect. This focuses on fossils, rocks, and minerals, plus some other natural history objects. They need to be from the Isle of Wight and its surrounding waters.

We are happy to consider comparative specimens from elsewhere.

We are also interested in books and maps relating to the Isle of Wight and its surrounding waters.

If you are considering a donation or bequest, please contact the curator.
